About CERAN UK |
CERAN UK was founded by Siân and Petro Choma in England’s historic heartland to provide the ideal setting for complete immersion in the English Language and culture, whilst remaining accessible by road, rail and air. We are located at Sherbourne Priors which is a charming 19th century vicarage.
At CERAN UK we pride ourselves on the quality of our product and our team whose warmth and enthusiasm will assist you in achieving your goals. At weekends, the central location in rural Warwickshire means we can offer a wealth of English history and culture on the doorstep, including Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Britain’s finest mediaeval castle in Warwick and the University City of Oxford. London is only an hour and a half away by train. Our team will be happy to provide you with information and help you organise your stay in England.
There are 13 bedrooms at Sherbourne Priors each with en-suite bathroom, television, DVD player, radio alarm and safe and each decorated individually to a high standard. WiFi is available throughout the house and our IT Manager is always willing to assist you. There is also internet access on PCs in the digital language laboratory and classrooms.
Our students enjoy meeting and relaxing in our elegant, typically English country home and sitting or walking in our beautifully kept grounds. It’s all part of the experience of being in England.

Sherbourne Priors was built in 1865 as a vicarage. It was commissioned by Louisa Ryland, a benefactor of the time, who inherited her father’s fortune from the production of pins in Birmingham. The home of the present Smith-Ryland family is the large property next to the church, which Louisa Ryland also commissioned, in Sherbourne village. At one time the Smith-Ryland family owned a large part of Warwickshire.

| The ‘New Vicarage’ as it was first called, remained a vicarage until the 1930s when it became a private home and the name was changed to ‘Sherbourne Priors’. In the 1980s it became a residential language school. It was acquired by CERAN in 1998 when the previous owners ceased trading.
