Financing your language training in Belgium
Several public grants can contribute to the financing of your CERAN language training in Belgium: training vouchers in Wallonia, Premium training in Brussels, KMO-wallet in Flanders or the BRAWO program in the German-speaking Community.

In Wallonia
In Wallonia, your language training can be financed through training vouchers. 1 check = 1 hour of training. You pay €15 for a real value of €30.
For example: a week of CERAN immersion corresponds to 50 checks. A 20-hour course requires 20 checks.
This system is accessible to Walloon SMEs (max. 250 employees) and to the self-employed. Not accessible to PFIs, students, apprentices and interns.
How do I get training vouchers?

Inform the provider
Indicate that you want to use Training Vouchers to finance your training.
Complete the data sheet
The service provider provides you with a form to complete to start the procedure.
Order your checks
Before the training, order your Training Vouchers from Sodexo and send the completed form.

Validation of checks
The service provider collects the checks corresponding to your training. Chèques-Formation and AWEX grants are not cumulative.

In Brussels-Capital
In Brussels, language courses can be financed through the Premium training when they are of an urgent or strategic nature.
The premium can cover 40% to 70% educational costs (excluding stay, travel and meals). Minimum: €500 per course. Maximum: 5 courses per year. The application must be submitted at least 1 month before the start of the training.
This aid is aimed at Brussels SMEs, self-employed individuals and companies located in one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region.
How do I get the Training Bonus?

Before the training
Submit your grant request no later than 1 month before the start of the course, with the required appendices. Brussels Economy & Employment then sends an acknowledgement of receipt.
Start of the training
The training starts on the scheduled date, provided that the request has been submitted on time. Keep the documents necessary to follow up on the file.
Premium payment
After the training, you have 3 months to send the invoice and proof of payment. The bonus is then paid all at once, subject to acceptance.

In the Flemish region
In Flanders, language courses can be financed through the KMO-Wallet. Depending on the size of the business, this assistance may cover up to 30% of the cost of training.
It is aimed at SMEs and self-employed persons established in the Flemish region.
Depending on the program chosen: Residential immersions: 36 to 60 hours of training. Individual coaching: 20 to 30 hours of lessons
How to benefit from the KMO-wallet

Inform the provider
Inform the provider of your intention to finance your project via the KMO-wallet.
Receive the bill and addendum
Receive the training invoice as well as the addendum specifying the amount covered by the aid.
Pay the bill before classes start
Pay the training bill to the provider before the courses start.
Create your account and submit your request
Register on the KMO-Wallet platform and submit your grant application within 14 days of the start of the training.
Pay your contribution
Pay your share via the platform within 30 days of the request. The Flemish government will then complete the amount.
Receive the refund
Once the file has been validated, the amount is paid to the provider, who reimburses you for the educational part excluding VAT.

In the German-speaking Community
In the German-speaking Community, your language training can be co-financed thanks to the BRAWO program (Bildung durch Weiterbildung).
This system supports companies and freelancers who wish to develop the language skills of their teams in an international professional context.
Part of the training costs can thus be covered by the German-speaking Community, in order to facilitate investment in skills.

Ask the provider for a quote
CERAN provides you with an estimate and the detailed training program, the documents required to apply for a grant.
Submit your BRAWO request
Complete the grant application form and submit it to the Ministry of the German-speaking Community before the start of the training course.
Follow your training
Once the application has been submitted and the training has been planned, you can follow the planned language training with the provider.
Send the supporting documents
After the training, send the necessary supporting documents within two months in order to allow your file to be processed.
Receive the refund
The BRAWO grant can cover up to a third of the cost of the training, with a ceiling of €1,000 per person and per training course, paid after validation of the file.
