“I dreamed of being a diplomat but I’ve never left CERAN where I’m really fulfilled”

Originally from Tongeren, Luc Scheepers dreamed of having a career as a diplomat or a journalist.
Luc, Manager Language Products JUNIORS - CERAN JUNIORS BELGIUM

"Helping young people to make the most of every moment"

A training teacher and quadrilingual, he began working at CERAN in 1998 as a teacher in the Dutch department.

He considered going to work in the West Indies but then the post of Head of the Dutch Department became vacant and Luc seized the opportunity. His role at CERAN has evolved over the years.

Today, Luc is Manager of Language Products Juniors.
“When you work with young people, you are addressing a specific audience. You take an interest in their well-being because, during their stay, you become their parent so to speak. Our guiding principles have always been: safety, learning and fun”, explains Luc.
Luc comes from a large family. He met his wife, Bernadette (a French teacher) at CERAN. They share an 11-year-old daughter.

Aside from his job, Luc has a real passion for sports. A horse rider in his spare time, he likes to go for rides in Geer Valley.

This “all-rounder” loves five a side football, tennis and, since September 2017, he has also practised Krav Maga.
Luc enjoys reading. He has read all of Ernest Hemingway’s books. And music is a big part of his life (rock, jazz, blues, classical music, etc.).

You will not be surprised to hear that this fun-lover also enjoys food, travel and meeting people.
